Same Bruin Support, More Ways to Connect
UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships is expanding how students connect with our office through virtual, face-to-face assistance.
Beginning Tuesday, November 3, 2026, through December 23, 2026, our office will be closed for in-person assistance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During this time, our phone services will remain open, and virtual face-to-face support will be available!
Virtual Connect Days are Tuesday and Thursdays from 10am - 3pm.
Please Note: To ensure we can provide quality assistance to all students and families who have signed in, these virtual sessions will be limited to 20 minutes max per student visit and our virtual lobby may close early at 2pm if the queue reaches maximum capacity.
Steps to Take Before Entering the Meeting
- Have your nine digit university ID number ready.
- Log into your Bruin Financial Aid Portal and have it ready to go.
- Jot down your questions/topics you'd like to inquire about to ensure we are able to cover all your concerns.

2026-27 Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) Awarding
The Middle Class Scholarship (MCS) is administered by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC). MCS award eligibility is determined based on enrollment records submitted by the campus. Initial enrollment records for the 2026–27 academic year were submitted in late July 2026, and MCS awards for the 2026–27 academic year have now been awarded.
Federal Direct Student Loan Acceptance Issues
If you are having difficult accepting or adjusting your Federal Direct Loan(s) offered through your Bruin Financial Aid Portal, please send us a direct Message Center informing us of your request.
- Please be specific about the type of loan you would like to accept or adjust, the exact amount you would like to accept, reduce, or cancel, and for which term(s).
- We also ask that you include a statement authorizing UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships to complete this request on your behalf.

UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, in Observance of the Veterans Day Holiday. We will resume regular operating hours on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
Office Closed in Observance of Thanksgiving Holiday
Thursday-Friday, November 26-27, 2026
UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships will be closed Thursday-Friday, November 26-27, 2026 in Observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will resume regular operating hours on Monday, November 30, 2026.
Winter 2027 Financial Aid Disbursement
Winter 2027 Financial Aid will be disbursed in two installments
- Evening of Monday, December 21 - Institutional Funds (i.e. University Grant, SHIP Grant, Scholarships)
- Evening of Monday, December 28 - Federal and State Funds (i.e. Federal Pell Grant, Cal Grant, Federal Loans)
Disbursements may take 1-2 days to appear on the BruinBill after the scheduled disbursement.
Important Notes:
- Financial Aid recipients are exempt from the December 20, 2026 payment deadline while financial aid disburses.
- Winter 2027 Classes will be dropped Friday, January 15, 2027, for any outstanding Winter tuition and fee balance. We do not have the ability to save classes in the Winter term.
- Financial aid will be assessed to the BruinBill to pay for Tuition & Fees and UCLA Housing Balances (if applicable).
- BruinDirect refund processing will commence Tuesday, December 29, 2026 and deposits will credit enrolled bank accounts within 3 days of initiation.
- Mailed paper checks will resume January 4, 2027.
Winter Campus Closure
Wednesday, December 23, 2026 - Friday, January 1, 2027
UCLA Financial Aid & Scholarships will be closed for the Winter Campus Closure from Wednesday, December 23, 2026 through Friday, January 1, 2027. We will resume regular operating hours on Monday, January 4, 2027.
