Timeline and Next Steps for 2026 Admitted Bruins
For those who have been admitted, you may have questions as you consider enrolling at UCLA. The information below highlights important financial aid resources and next steps.
- Review Your Bruin Financial Aid Letter : Access your Bruin Financial Aid Letter (BFAL) under the “Financial” tab of your Bruin Financial Aid Portal to review the financial aid options available to you (click on College Financing Plan).
- Apply for UCLA Scholarships: Complete the UCLA Scholarship Application by April 2, 2026 for priority consideration.
- Review Financial Aid Appeal Options: UCLA Bruin Financial Aid Letter offers are not negotiable. However, students may submit appeals if their financial circumstances have changed. Types of appeals include:
- Loss of Income Appeal – “Petition to Use Projected Year Income” for families experiencing a documented income reduction of $20,000 or more.
- Independent Status / Homelessness Appeal – See limited criteria for appeals.
- Late FAFSA or CADAA Appeal – For aid applications submitted after the March 2, 2026 priority deadline.
- Note Possible California Middle Class Scholarship Eligibility: About 40% of California residents at UCLA qualify for the California Middle Class Scholarship. UCLA does not typically receive the roster of eligible students until October so award amounts cannot be confirmed at this time.
- Plan to attend First-Year Bruin Day on April 11, 2026 and Transfer Bruin Day on May 16, 2026! At Bruin Day you will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a financial aid counselor; learn more here.
- Accept Admission: The deadline to submit the Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) for admitted first-year undergraduatestudents for Fall 2026 is May 1, 2026. For admitted transfer students, the deadline is June 1, 2026.
Have questions or want to speak with a Financial Aid Counselor? Our team will be at Bruin Day and Bruin Bound events. You can also visit our Contact Us webpage for phone hours, our office location, and access to Message Center.
Deadlines and Appeals
The 2026-2027 priority deadline to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is March 3, 2026, by 9 p.m. (PST). Be sure to include UCLA’s school code: 001315.
Please note that Financial Aid and Scholarships reviews applications only for admitted students. Financial aid offers for prospective students will be provided at the time admission decisions are released for those who have submitted a financial aid application.
At the time of admission, the tuition and fees reflected on your financial aid offer will be based on the preliminary information provided in your admission application. Residence status for tuition purposes is determined by the UCLA Registrar’s Office. If your residence status changes after you submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), your financial aid offer will be revised accordingly.
For more information, please review the UC Residence Requirements and contact the UCLA Residence Deputy with any residence-related questions once you have been admitted.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are a newly admitted student who has not submitted your Statement of Intent to Register and want to submit an appeal with Financial Aid & Scholarships, please submit your appeal and supporting documentation via documentation via the MyUCLA Message Center under the “Financial Aid: Newly Admitted- Submit Documents” queue. You may access a direct link to each respective form via our Publications webpage once 2026 admission decisions have been released.
